Welding robot was first only used in spot welding, at the beginning of 80, with the development of computer technology, sensor technology, arc welding manipulator gradually gained popularity, especially in the past decade due to the rapid development of the world economy, The fierce competition in the market has made those welding automation machines used in medium and mass production unable to adapt to the small-scale and multi-variety production mode have gradually been replaced by flexible welding robots, welding robots have been greatly developed, and welding has become one of the largest fields of application of robotic arms. Welding robot has been widely used in automobile, motorcycle, construction machinery and other fields. At present, there are more than 800,000 industrial robots in the world, and more than 40% of them are used for welding.
So what are the main things to pay attention to in robot welding?
1. Teaching assignments are required
Before the robot performs automatic welding, the operator must teach the robot the trajectory of the welding gun and set welding conditions. Because of the need to teach, so the robot is not for multi-variety and small production of products welding.
2. The accuracy of the workpiece must be ensured
The robot has no eyes and can only repeat the same action. The trajectory accuracy of the robot is ± 0.1mm, and the same action is repeated with this accuracy. When the welding deviation is greater than the radius of the welding wire, it may be bad welding, so the workpiece accuracy should be kept within the radius of the welding wire.
3. The setting of welding conditions depends on the technical level of the teaching operator
The operator must input welding procedures, welding gun attitude and Angle, current, voltage, speed and other welding conditions when teaching. Instruction operators must fully grasp welding knowledge and welding skills.
4. Full attention must be paid to safety
The robot is a high-speed sports equipment, and people are absolutely not allowed to be near the robot when it is automatically running (safety guardrails must be set). Operators must receive special education in labor safety, otherwise they are not allowed to operate.
Performance requirements of arc welding robots
In the arc welding operation, the welding gun is required to track the movement of the workpiece and constantly fill the metal to form the weld, so the stability of the speed and the accuracy of the track are two important indicators.
Under normal circumstances, the welding speed can be 5 ~ 50mm/s, and the track accuracy can be ±0·2 ~ 0·5mm. Since the attitude of the welding torch also has a certain impact on the quality of the weld, it is hoped that at the same time of the root trace, the adjustable range of the welding torch attitude is as large as possible, and there are other performance requirements, such as the swing function, the interface function of the welding sensor (starting point detection, welding seam tracking), and the anti-collision function of the welding torch.
Welding specification setting. Arcing and arcing parameters.
Swing function. Setting of swing frequency, swing width and swing type.
Solder the sensor. Interface function of starting point detection and weld tracking sensor.
Welding gun anti-collision function. When the torch is subjected to abnormal resistance, the robot stops to avoid damage to the operator and tools.
Multi-layer welding function. This function can be applied to realize the automatic programming of the other layers after the completion of the first layer welding instruction.
Reignition function. If the arc fails, retry automatically. Therefore, the operation interruption caused by welding anomaly (arc failure) is eliminated, and the whole line shutdown caused by it is avoided to the maximum extent.
Welding torch calibration function. When the welding torch collides with the workpiece, it can be corrected by simple operation.
Automatic thread removal function. At the end of the welding, if the welding wire is detected, it is automatically re-energized to remove the bonding wire, so it is not necessary to cut the welding wire manually.
Arc break restart function. When there is a broken arc, the robot will return to restart the arc welding according to the specified lap amount. So there is no need to repair welding work.
